On our way to Boston!

Updated: May 9, 2022

Road tripping to Boston Children's Hospital to remove broken pins and screws and do tendon releases from Larry Jr's feet.

We arrived in Boston last night. Even though the drive is long, it really doesn't feel too hard, because the scenery is so beautiful. We have a safe bed for Larry in our van, because it hurts for his legs to dangle too long. But yes, we are tired.

We stopped halfway and surprised Larry by having his sister Molly meet us at the hotel. She

is stationed in Oswego with the Coast Guard. Larry loved this!

Today we head over to the hospital to meet a social

worker in their Family Center. The Hale Family Center. Hale. Get it? Hale...hail? Like....Hail to the victors! I'll take that as a sign. Those who know me know my little thing I have with Gabriel the Messenger Archangel since Larry Jr was born...I have had a few of those moments too this last week. My carotid Dr is Gabrielle. That is a good sign! I'll take all I can get!

We are here to see the guru of feet doctors. An actual spina bifida clinic that deals with the medical complications that go along with spina bifida. Exactly what Larry has. We feel really good about seeking help here for Larry's club feet.

One of his pieces of hardware is completely coming through now. As in.... you can see into his foot. Eeeeeeeeeeeekkk.

“Today

, we publish the website for Larry's nonpfrofit. This has been something we have wanted to do for a very long time. We have been helped greatly by friends, family and even complete strangers. Our goal is to spread that around, to share the help we have so generously received from others, to do anything we can to help patients and their families at Mott, just like we have been helped.”

There are no words to describe how proud I am to have Larry Jr. as a friend.
