Why We Do What We Do ❤️

We are officially just 8 days away from the 4th Annual Run With The Bear 5K & 1-Mile Run, Walk & Roll!

As race day gets closer, we are reminded of exactly why we do what we do.

The Larry Prout Jr. Courage Fund was created to help children and families facing some of the most difficult days of their lives. After everything Larry Jr. and our family have experienced throughout his lifetime of hospital stays and 119 surgeries, we have always wanted to find a way to give back and help other families walking similar paths.

Since we began, we have raised well over $300,000 and helped more than 300 families. And for this year's Run With The Bear alone, we have already raised approximately $75,000!

Our mission has also grown with the creation of the Elise Prout Brandon NICU Fund, inspired by our beautiful granddaughter, Elise and her incredible journey. After spending seven months in the NICU fighting to survive, Elise and her family showed us another side of what families endure when a child is critically ill.

Larry and Elise are why we do what we do. And because of all of you, their journeys are helping us bring hope and support to so many other children and families.

We are incredibly grateful to Pinckney Community Schools and Pinckney Athletics, who, for the fourth year in a row, have supported us and gone above and beyond to accommodate our event. Their kindness, generosity, and willingness to help make Run With The Bear possible mean more to us than we can say.

With just 8 days until race day, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for every person who has donated, sponsored, registered, volunteered, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on. You are the reason we are able to continue helping families when they need it most.
