As of today, The Larry Prout Jr Courage Fund has sent out our 263rd grant. Because of you, we are able to continue to help families at Mott Hospital struggling with emergency financial needs!
We understand families like ours who are frequently at the hospital with their loved one. Please continue to pray for our son, Larry Jr and granddaughter Baby Elise. And all the patients at UofM, especially during the holiday season.

John Prout is Larry's big brother and the treasurer of the Larry Prout Jr Courage Fund. He and his wife Stephanie's daughter have been in the NICU at Mott since July 17.
Baby Elise will be 5 months old soon and is over 10 lbs now! She is still working on getting her lungs stronger but is doing well. She’s such a strong baby. No IVs! Just an NG tube to feed her and a nasal cannula to provide oxygen and pressure to keep her lungs open. The docs think she'll be in the hospital til St Patrick's Day. This is a goal based on weening off her oxygen/pressure support and after that, trying to remove the feeding tube and teach her the bottle. Steph and John are very tired. They spend every day with her. We are very proud of their strength and resiliency.

And an update on Larry Jr, our inspiration for The Larry Prout Jr (The Bear) Courage Fund.
Larry Jr is still on TPN and a bucket load of meds. We are running into insurance issues and out of pocket expenses. Some of these meds are not covered. Like the Ursodol for his liver. He's doing well on the TPN nutrition (Pro Line tunneled catheter in his carotid artery) We run the pump from 8:00 p.m. till 8:00 a.m. We've administered it here at home many times. It always makes me nervous though because we have to be so sterile and I'm so worried about giving him a port line infection.
He has good days here and there, but mostly bad. His bad days are excruciating gut pain. Very hard on him. But he is home.
It's good to be home.
Please continue praying for our grandbaby Elise and our brave Larry as they get stronger and stronger.
Thank you!
